Chief Executive Officer (Mark Asiedu Duah)
The managing Director, Mr. Mark Asiedu Duah formally worked with Gold Recovery Ghana Ltd, Tema as a Procurement Manager of the company. Gold Recovery is a mining company which process (Treat) tailings from the small scale mines (Galamsey) left over. His duties was to go round all the small scale mines across the country and identify Tailings , negotiate with the owners and buy to feed the plant at Tema. He also transacted business with AngloGold Ashanti, Golden Star Mines Wassa, and Redback Mining (Chirano Mines) Central African Gold (Bibiani Mines) Tarkwa Goldfields, Bogoso/Prestea Mines.
He was the first employee of the Company and worked at the management level for a period of five years.
The managing Director of the company started by taken a nationwide tour to all the large and small scale mining areas in the country , He visited the four regions of Ghana , that is Tarkwa , Prestea , Bogoso , Wassa Akropong ,Wassa Japa , Chirano mines ,Bibiani small scale mines and Central African Gold Bibiani in the Western Region , Obuasi Konongo, Manso Nkwanta ,Manso Abore,Manso Datano ,Bonte , in the Ashanti Region, Dunkwa on offin, Denkyira Abora, Denkyira Adaboe, Denkyira Henawusu in the Central Region. Nkwakwa, Ntronang in the Eastern Region.
His aim was to improve on the small Scale Mining Industry (Galamsey) to a Medium Scale Mining Industry by using excavators and washing plant to increase production
Out of his studying, he realizes there are three ways of mining Gold.
- Rock Mining
- Dust Mining
- Alluvial Mining
He critically took a study on the alluvial mining which is basically mining along the River boundary and about 200 acres from the River Band. The Managing Director currently combines the administrative and finance functions and outsources for technical financial advice from Chartered Accountants. The various functions shall be fully operated at the growth of the venture.
Samuel Donkor: General Manager
Samuel is an experienced professional in the mining industry with over twenty years experience. Samuel was Supervisor at British High Commision at the Horticulture Department for over five years. He also worked with Varouk Ventures for over eight years; a venture that supplies gold tailings to Sankofa Mines at Prestea. He also worked in other reputable companies dealing in gold tailings till he partnered with Scan Minerals for the supply of Gold tailings.
Benjamin Rockson Essuman-Field Manager
Benjamin is the Field Manager. He is an experience engineer with years of experience in the alluvia mining field.
Other Operational Staff
Scan Minerals currently engages the labour force on contract basis. The number varies in relation to the contracts available. The venture currently rents all the equipments needed for the assignment; however, a sustainable contract shall necessitate direct acquisition of machinery.
